In One of Aesop’s fables he describes an old man who had several sons, who were always falling out with one another. He had often, but to no purpose, exhorted them to live together in harmony. One day he called them together, and he gathered a bundle of sticks and tied them together and asked each one of them to try to break them. Each one tried as hard as they could but none of them could break the bundle of sticks. Then the father cut the cord that he tied them together with and told his sons to break them separately. This was done with the greatest case. “See, my sons,” the old man said “the power of unity!” Bound together by brotherly love, you may defy almost every mortal danger, but divided, you will fall prey to your enemies. “A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (Eccl 4:12)
We enjoyed our monthly Fellowship breakfast this morning before Sunday School. Come out and join us the first Sunday of every month!
Next Sunday is our Annual Church Picnic at Snyder Park in the brick shelter house by the old Tennis courts, the same place as last year. We will be eating at exactly 1pm. Bring your favorite dish to share, lawn chairs, and corn hole boards.
Next Sunday before the picnic, the services here at Grace will be slightly different: There will be no Sunday school with our worship service starting at 10:30am instead of 11:00am.
Join us in celebrating this month’s birthdays and anniversaries. May they have many more!
Help us as we partner with the Pregnancy Resource center for their Annual “Blessings in a Bottle” campaign this year! This campaign continues to run through Father’s Day. Fill a baby bottle (available in the Welcome Center) with your spare change to help them make a change. Please see sister Julie Brannon for any questions.
If you would like to help out with this year’s VBS, “In the Wild” happening June 17-21, please let Sister Dee Zerkle or the Pastor know. We ask that all volunteers attend the meetings listed below to get all pertinent information about schedules, lessons, and procedures. Let’s have a great year!!
Sat, June 8, 15 - Decorating Day, from 10am-12pm for both dates.
We have Prayer Cards on the table out in the main hall. Please let your request be made known on them and our prayer team will be praying for them during Sunday School. If you have a prayer request you would liked shared please write “Share” on the prayer card and it will be mentioned after Sunday School.
